Letter to Antain ( first and second half)

Letter to Antain

Hi, Antain I know your life must be really confusing and your still young and want your family to be very proud of you so you listened to them on becoming a grand elder in the future. The fact your is pressuring you to become a grand elder is astronomical. I am surprised you did not break yet because I probably would have broke and cut my family off. But I understand why they want you to become a grand elder it is because your uncle Gherland was a grand elder and still is. Even thought you do not agree with the fact that the grand elders are saracfing children for their own benefits you do not want to disappoint your family. So, If you want to become a grand elder I understand even thought you are a hard-working, kind, and thoughtful young man it is your choice and I hope you do not make the wrong choice just because of your family since in the end of the day it is your life and yours only. But I  remember you saying that it that it might get easier overtime and that your mother keeps on insisting that being an elder is a honor and that you deserves that honor “We deserve that honor. I mean you deserve it, my dear son” (pg.42) she always tells you. But is that what you truly want because the last time I checked you was not sure if you really wanted to be an elder. But I do not understand why the elders berate you every chance they get and for no reason. And the fact that your own mother is doing the same thing at home to you. I hope you find your path and be happy with what you chose to do in your future because thats what matters in the end is your happiness and you do not seem happy with becoming a grand elder.

                        Sincerely, your beloved friend Ladan

Quotes:

“We deserve that honor. I mean you deserve it, my dear son” (pg.42). I found this quote unforgettable because it was about how being a grand elder is one of the highest honors and that her son deserves it. But he only went through with it because of how his mother and uncle wanted him to be a grand elder even though they sacrifice children just to stay in power. But he never agreed with how the grand elders are acting because Antain knew that it was not right. But Antain said he would never have become an apprentice of the elders if it was not for his mother who was acting aggressively. Because only his mother wanted him to become a grand elder but not him and the reason why she wanted him to become a grand elder was because she wanted Antain to improve her status. But overall she did not care about her own sons dreams and ambitions because it was not the same as hers.

“Let’s go see the world, shall we?” (p.24). I found this quote unforgettable because it was about how the witch saves the  sacrificed children and brings it into the free cities just for them to be safe and not killed by the grand elders. And she does it every year or when she can. And it is sad that people believe that she is evil when the real evil ones are the grand elders who are sacrificing children while she is the one saving them. And I really do not understand on why they believe that she is the evil one because the elders are only doing it to keep in power of the people and she really has no obligation to be nice if everyone already sees her as evil but she helps anyways. But this in this quote she changes her mind because she feels that she wanted to keep that child as her own granddaughter because she believes that that child is actually special.
